Our Story
Bessie Mpelegele Ngwana Child Care Centre was founded by Mrs. Bessie Nokoane, an educator who spent many years working with children with disabilities. During her career, she witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by children living with disabilities and the limited resources available to support them. Many families struggled to access specialised care, while some children were left without adequate developmental support and opportunities. Driven by compassion and a commitment to serving vulnerable children, Mrs. Nokoane established BMNCC to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children could receive the care, support, and dignity they deserve. The centre initially started in a modest three-bedroom house caring for only a few children before growing into a recognised community care centre serving dozens of beneficiaries. For more than twenty years, BMNCC has remained committed to its founding purpose: improving the lives of children with disabilities and supporting families who face extraordinary challenges.
